PWCA(C) Trophies

The award year will begin with the results as published in Dogs In Canada covering shows from January 1 to December 31.  The top winners will be published in the Summer COURIER (or as soon thereafter as full results are available in Dogs In Canada).

The following are the Awards given to Canadian members in good standing.

THE CORGANA CUP:

For the Pembroke Welsh Corgi of the year. Donated by Mr & Mrs Albert Huggins. Awarded to the Club member’s Corgi who has defeated the most dogs (all breeds) at Championship shows during the year. Calculated on one point per dog defeated in wins of Best of Breed or better.

THE BETULA TROPHY:

For Best of Opposite Sex Pembroke Welsh Corgi of the year.  Donated by Mrs. M.R. Atenbring.  Points are calculated in the same manner as the Corgana Cup

TALK OF THE TOWN TROPHY

For the top winning Pembroke Welsh Corgi at the breed level. Donated by Rod A. and John E. Heartz. Awarded to the Club member’s Corgi who has defeated the most Corgis during the year at Championship shows. Calculated on Best of Breed wins only – one point per Corgi defeated.

THE BHILWARA PERPETUAL OBEDIENCE TROPHY

For the top Obedience Pembroke Welsh Corgi during the year. Donated by Mr & Mrs. O. Roberts.  Awarded to the member’s Corgi obtaining the most points at Obedience Trials.  Points are calculated on the total of the three best scores during the year. A minimum of three scores during the year are required to qualify.

THE COLWYN-TIVERTON AWARD:

For the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Puppy of the year. Donated by Rod A. and John E. Heartz. Awarded to the member’s Corgi puppy obtaining the most points during the year at Championship shows.

THE ISADORA DUNCAN RALLY OBEDIENCE TROPHY

For the top Rally Obedience Pembroke Welsh Corgi during the year. Donated By Dawn Beck. Awarded to the member’s Corgi obtaining the most points at Rally Obedience Trials.  Points are calculated on the total of the three best scores during the year. A minimum of three scores during the year are required to qualify.
